Things haven’t been great between Bryson DeChambeau and PGA Tour fans as of late.
DeChambeau has been the focal point of a lot of taunting in recent months. Much of it stems from his rivalry with Brooks Koepka. Fans have often been heard yelling “Brooksy” at DeChambeau.
The PGA Tour recently announced that any fans heard yelling “Brooksy” at DeChambeau will be ejected from tournaments.
“The barometer that we are all using is the word ‘respect,’ and to me, when you hear ‘Brooksie’ yelled or you hear any expression yelled, the question is, is that respectful or disrespectful?” PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan said on Tuesday. “That has been going on for an extended period of time. To me, at this point, it’s disrespectful, and that’s kind of behavior that we’re not going to tolerate going forward.”
While we haven’t had any “Brooksy” moments at the Tour Championship this weekend, we did just have a suspect moment.
A fan was spotted picking up DeChambeau’s ball.
Doesn’t really seem like a big deal to me for fans to call him “Brooksie,” but man, a fan picking up Bryson DeChambeau’s ball after his tee shot… that’s a lame move.

The golf world isn’t happy.
Ok so a “fan” picks up Brysons ball on the 18th???
No repercussions for this idiot?
Let’s find this “fan” and ban him for life…
Almost cost Bryson an unnecessary penalty…— Matt Souchuk (@mojorzn11) September 4, 2021
I have no clue if the fan who took Bryson’s ball knew it was in play, but man, another bad look for PGA fans.

Intentional or not, you can’t be picking up a golf ball at a tournament. That seems like some pretty common sense.
The Tour Championship can be seen on NBC.
