Reloading the roster

Bobby Hurley continues to add to the Sun Devil roster, as Arizona State received its third commitment in as many days on Saturday when Jay Heath announced his intentions to transfer to Tempe.

As a sophomore this past season, Heath was Boston College’s leading scorer, averaging 14.5 points per game and shooting 41.2 percent from the field in a stout Atlantic Coast Conference.

Thank you to all the schools that have shown interest, but after a lot of long talks with my family and coaches I have decided to commit to Arizona State University. I am excited to start my next journey!!!

Heath entered his name in the transfer portal after BC finished last in the ACC and former Eagles head coach Jim Christian was fired.

During his freshman campaign, the 6-foot-3 guard put up 13.1 points per contest while starting in 30 of the team’s 31 games.

Originally a three-star recruit out of Woodrow Wilson High School in Washington D.C., Wilson will join a backcourt full of transfers that includes Holland Woods (Portland State transfer) and Luther Muhammad (Ohio State transfer).

Remy Martin and Kimani Lawrence are also eligible for an extra year of eligibility if they choose to return, while star freshmen Josh Christopher and Marcus Bagley could also stay pending their NBA Draft status.

Heath becomes the third player to join ASU in the last few days, joining four-star center Enoch Boakye and small forward AJ Bramah.
