Another four-star
Arizona State heard some good news from Alfonzo Allen on his Instagram Live on Saturday. The Florida native is joining his Hallandale High School teammate Jaylin Marshall as they head to Tempe.
Allen is rated as a four-star safety by both 247Sports and Rivals. 247Sports lists him as its 243 ranked recruit nationally. Between Allen, Marshall and athlete Larry Turner-Gooden, Arizona State already has three recruits inside 247Sports’ top 400 prospects across the nation. The other, Carter Brown, is the recruiting service’s top-ranked kicker. Allen is also listed as the 14th best safety in the country and 28th overall in Florida.
Among the other schools that offered Allen included USC, LSU, Alabama, Miami, Clemson, Texas A&M, Florida State, South Carolina, Auburn, Florida, Oklahoma, Penn State and plenty more. Allen tweeted his top 12 choices back in March and the only other west coast school included was USC, thus the Sun Devils made quiet the impression on him.
Defensive backs Chris Hawkins has led the recruitment on Allen, Marshall and Turner-Gooden which should make for a top of the line defensive backfield from the 2022 class.
