The Baltimore Ravens made the move everyone expected them to make Thursday night. They signed veteran running back Latavius Murray.
Murray is in the process of finalizing a deal with Baltimore, according to Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic. He is one of four running backs the Ravens have signed in the last couple of days.
Incredibly, Baltimore has lost three running backs to season-ending injury in the last two weeks. Most recently, Gus Edwards went down in practice today with a torn ACL, joining projected starter J.K. Dobbins and reserve Justice Hill on the IR.
It had been widely speculated that the Ravens would target Murray, who was released by the New Orleans Saints on Tuesday. Before bringing in the 2015 Pro Bowler, the Ravens added Le’Veon Bell and DeVonta Freeman to the practice squad and Trenton Cannon to the active roster.
Second-year pro Ty’Son Williams is currently expected to begin the season as Baltimore’s top back.
The Ravens aren’t done bringing in veteran RBs. Per sources, they are working on finalizing a deal with Latavius Murray. Should get done.

In 15 games last season, Murray split time with Alvin Kamara in New Orleans. He finished with 656 yards rushing and four touchdowns on 146 carries.
For his career, Murray has compiled 4,991 rushing yards and 43 touchdowns on 1,191 carries while suiting up for the Saints, the Oakland Raiders and the Minnesota Vikings.
