With today’s final additions, the full 12-man roster for this year’s Team USA roster has been officially released — and it’s a fun group to say the least.
Kevin Durant, Damian Lillard, Bradley Beal, Jayson Tatum, Devin Booker, Zach LaVine, Kevin Love, Bam Adebayo, Draymond Green, Jrue Holiday, Khris Middleton and Jerami Grant will all travel to Tokyo this summer for the 2021 Olympic Games.
With five of the league’s top-15 regular-season scorers, five of the league top-15 playoff scorers and 37 All-Star appearances between the 12 rostered players, Team USA looks primed to claim its fourth straight Olympic gold medal this summer.
The NBA world and basketball fans from around the globe took to Twitter to react to the stacked roster.

This is the Worst Roster in a while. And they still are likely to walk to Gold. https://t.co/aOEpPUeBVH

With a guard/forward heavy lineup, Team USA doesn’t have much in the way of a pure center. Adebayo is the only player on the roster listed at the center position, and even he is a more agile stretch-5 type of option.
That being said, the level of talent that this roster will bring to Tokyo seems like it’ll be tough to overcome. Lillard, Durant and Tatum are all coming fresh off the best postseason performances of their careers, averaging a combined 99.2 points per game in this year’s playoffs.
Training camp under head coach Gregg Popovich will begin on Jul. 6 in Las Vegas. The Tokyo Olympics will begin on Jul. 23.
