Kevin Warren covered a handful of important topics this Thursday to kick off Big Ten Media Days. He also made an interesting remark about the future of the Big Ten title game.
Since the Big Ten’s contract with Lucas Oil Stadium expires after this season, Warren expects the conference to start rotating the title game. This means other venues could host the Big Ten Championship fairly soon.
Warren also told NJ Advance Media that he’s open to having the Big Ten Championship take place at MetLife Stadium at some point in the future.
“We’re going to sit down and figure out the best way to rotate it, probably take out a [request for proposal] for basketball and football,” Warren said, via NJ Advance Media. “I’m open to any location our fans will travel to and enjoy in our footprint, anywhere from Nebraska to New Jersey.”

Big Ten football fans are upset with Warren’s recent comments because they like the current location of the conference championship game.
One fan sarcastically tweeted “I mean, why would you want to keep it in a city that is a world class event host that sits right in the geographic center of the conference?”
Another fan of the Big Ten wrote “Kevin Warren continues to impress! Said nobody ever.”
Lucas Oil Stadium has been the site of the championship game since 2011. Hopefully, the Big Ten won’t exclude Lucas Oil Stadium from its future rotation.
