Bills Are Reportedly Close To Signing ‘Emergency’ Kicker

The Bills aren’t taking any chances on special teams as they advance to the divisional round this weekend.

Buffalo is reportedly bringing in kicker Tristan Vizcaino for a tryout. If all goes according to plan, the Bills will sign him and utilize him as the “emergency kicker,” per NFL insider Ian Rapoport.

“Free agent K Tristan Vizcaino will be visiting the #Bills today as a tryout and could potentially be their emergency kicker moving forward during playoffs, source said. He’ll have to clear protocols first. Insurance in case COVID-19 or anything else affects the kicker situation,” Rapoport tweeted Monday afternoon.

Vizcaino will backup the Bills’ current starting kicker, Tyler Bass, if he makes the team. First, Vizcaino will have to clear COVID protocols and nail the tryout.

The Bills will try and sign Vizcaino and get him on the roster ahead of this weekend’s divisional round.

The Buffalo Bills are coming off a thrilling 27-24 victory over the Indianapolis Colts last Saturday. Quarterback Josh Allen threw for 324 yards and two scores and also added 54 yards and an addition score on the ground.

Allen will need an even bigger performance this weekend when he and the Bills take on the Ravens. Baltimore is coming off a big-time 20-13 win over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. Lamar Jackson was incredible, rushing for 136 yards and a touchdown in addition to 179 yards and another touchdown through the air.

The Bills take on the Ravens this Saturday at  8:15 p.m. ET.
