Home court advantage at times can be one of the biggest inherent advantages in sports. But Arizona State head coach Bobby Hurley doesn’t believe his home arena gives his program much of an advantage at all.
“”We haven’t played well (at home) in years. Like, since before COVID… It’s a sterile environment,” he said after a 75-63 loss to West Virginia at home. “We don’t win here. It’s not a home-court advantage… It’s hard to see a lot of light at the end of the tunnel.”
Arizona is 10-9 on the season with a 5-4 record at home and a 1-4 record on the road.
“The schedule has something to do with it, lets call it what it is,” Hurley added. “Sending a team to BYU and getting one home game and two more games against our rival and like one of the best teams in the country all on the road, I mean that’s just ridiculous. So all these factors matter in someway.”
