Week 2 of the college football season is coming to a close and you know what that means: time for ESPN’s College GameDay to announce next week’s destination.
Earlier Saturday afternoon, Kirk Herbstreit and the GameDay crew were in Ames, Iowa for a huge non-conference showdown. No. 9 Iowa State hosted No. 10 Iowa for in-state supremacy.
Just a few hours later, ESPN announced it’s headed to another Big Ten campus next weekend. College GameDay will broadcast from Happy Valley next Saturday morning.
That’s right, College GameDay is headed to Penn State as the Nittany Lions host Auburn in a non-conference showdown.

Earlier this afternoon, Penn State took care of business against Ball State to keep its perfect season alive. In Week 1, the Nittany Lions went on the road and took down a heavily-favored Wisconsin program.
That win moved Penn State up to No. 11 in the AP Poll. With Iowa taking down Iowa State earlier tonight, the Nittany Lions might enter next weekend’s game as a top-10 team.
Meanwhile, Auburn has been torching its opponents so far this season. While its opponents haven’t been anything to write home about, Auburn has outscored its two opponents 122-10 so far this season.
That high-powered offense will have it’s hand full against a Penn State defense that has only allowed 23 points in its first two games.
Penn State and Auburn kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
