Bruce Arians Has A Scary Admission On Antonio Brown

August 10, 2021 by The Spun

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Antonio Brown on Sunday.

Six-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Antonio Brown joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the middle of the 2020 season. After some uncertainty at the start of the offseason, Brown re-joined the Bucs for a second year, and head coach Bruce Arians is excited for how he looks now.

Speaking to the media on Monday, Arians declared that Brown looks better than ever right now. He stated that Brown is playing at a speed like he was at four to five years ago.

Of course, 4-5 years ago, Brown was a perennial Pro Bowler and First-Team All-Pro selection. Between 2013 and 2018, Brown had over 100 receptions and 1,000 yards each year – an NFL record. He led the league in receptions and yards twice, and in touchdown receptions once during that span.

But Brown’s off-the-field behavior nearly ended his NFL career abruptly. He played in just one game in 2019 for the New England Patriots and was suspended by the NFL for the first half of 2020.

Antonio Brown wound up getting the last laugh though. He signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on a reasonable deal and went on to have 45 receptions for 483 yards and four touchdowns in the regular season.

He was equally good in the postseason, recorded eight receptions for 81 yards, including a touchdown in Super Bowl LV.

If Brown is anywhere close to being as good now as he was in his best years with the Steelers, the Buccaneers may be even better this year than last year.

What kind of numbers will Antonio Brown put up for the Bucs this year?
