Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians has been waiting months to get his team’s 2021 season officially underway. While he’s ready to face the Dallas Cowboys this Thursday night, Arians acknowledged there is one challenge to facing them.
Speaking to the media on Sunday, Arians called it “a huge challenge” to defend Dallas’ top three wide receivers – Amari Cooper, CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup. Arians said that the Cowboys may have the best trio of receivers in the NFL. But he believes that his team might be the best too.
“It’s a huge challenge. They’re loaded, and they all do different things. I think that threesome might be the best. I’ll argue that ours might be, too. It’s a hell of a challenge when you have that many guys,” Arians said.
Cooper, Lamb and Gallup combined for 2,892 yards and 15 touchdowns in 2020. Tampa Bay’s top three receivers – Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and Scotty Miller – combined for just under 2,500 yards, but had 23 touchdowns between them.

When healthy, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Dallas Cowboys can both light up the scoreboard with their offenses. But there’s little denying that Tampa Bay has the superior defense.
Tampa Bay held the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs to just nine points in Super Bowl LV. By contrast, the Cowboys gave up the most points in franchise history last year.
Will Bruce Arians and the Buccaneers struggle against the Cowboys receiving corps this Thursday?
