44-year-old quarterback Tom Brady is heading into his 22nd NFL season. That being said, the longtime veteran doesn’t appear to have lost a step.
On Friday, Buccaneers QB coach Clyde Christensen said Brady looks like a 25 year old with the energy he’s bringing on the practice field ahead of next week’s opening game, per ProFootballTalk.
While it’ll be tough to beat last year’s stellar Super Bowl run, Christensen believes the Bucs will be even better in Year 2 with Brady at the helm.
“I’m excited about this year,” the third-year QBs coach said, per Tampa Bay insider Carmen Vitali. “I think we’re gonna be better.”

This statement from Christensen echoes comments made by Bucs’ offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich earlier today. The third-year OC, who came in with Christensen back in 2018, said Brady and the offense are more connected than ever heading into the 2021 season.
In Year 21 last season, his first year away from the New England Patriots, Brady led the Buccaneers to a league title behind 4,633 yards and 40 touchdowns on 65.7% completion through the regular season.
Now, the ageless wonder will look to improve those stats in his second season with Tampa Bay.
The Bucs will kickoff their season with a Week 1 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday night.
