The 2021-22 NBA season is just over a month away, and teams are still making notable moves. The latest trade involves the Boston Celtics and Memphis Grizzlies.
According to ESPN NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski, the Grizzlies are trading forward Juancho Hernangomez to the Celtics. In exchange, the Celtics are sending over guards Kris Dunn and Carson Edwards. The two teams will also swap 2026 second-round picks.
Hernangomez joined the Grizzlies in a trade with the Minnesota Timberwolves just over a week ago in the Patrick Beverley trade. The 25-year-old forward played in 52 games for Minnesota last year, averaging 7.2 points and 3.9 rebounds per game.
Dunn joined Boston in a three-team trade with the Atlanta Hawks and Sacramento Kings last month. He played in just four games for Atlanta in the 2020-21 season.
Edwards has played 68 games, starting two, since going 33rd overall in the 2019 NBA Draft.
Memphis has agreed to trade forward Juancho Hernangomez to Boston for guards Kris Dunn, Carsen Edwards and a 2026 second-round pick swap, sources tell ESPN.

It’s hard to tell if either the Boston Celtics or the Memphis Grizzlies got the better end of this trade.
Juancho Hernangomez has been a starting caliber player for several years. But Kris Dunn and Carsen Edwards both have some upside.
The Celtics and Grizzlies both reached the playoffs in 2021 after winning their respective play-in rounds. But they both succumbed in the first round of the playoffs, both losing in Game 5.
The two teams hope to build off of last year’s success and go farther this year.
Who do you think won the Celtics-Grizzlies trade?
