Chiefs President Addresses Possible Relocation

April 23, 2022 by The Spun

A general view of the Kansas City Chiefs stadium.

The Kansas City Chiefs are seriously considering changing locations.

Chiefs president Mark Donovan reaffirmed this week that his team is considering leaving Kansas City.

With that being said, all options are on the table. Kansas City could end up staying put at Arrowhead, move out to the suburbs or build a new stadium in Kansas City.

“All of those are on the table,” he said, via the Kansas City Star. “The perspective I want to give everybody is: Take a breath. We’ve got a lot of work to do.”

This is going to be a long process.

The Chiefs have to consider whether building a new stadium will be worth it in the first place. It sounds like they’re still in the early portion of those discussions.

“We do have to look at, does it make sense to build new? But you can’t even have that discussion and really get serious about it until you know what you have. And that’s going to take awhile,” he added.

A construction project of this magnitude is nothing to rush. The Chiefs will take their time.

Kansas City will consider several options. It could stay at Arrowhead, move elsewhere or build a new stadium in Kansas City.

Regardless of what decision is made, the Chiefs will be playing at Arrowhead this upcoming season.
