The Kansas City Chiefs starting man in the backfield returns.
On Saturday, it was reported that running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire will be activated off the IR ahead of Sunday’s game against the Cowboys.
The news comes courtesy of the NFL Network‘s James Palmer.

Earlier in the week, there were rumblings out of Kansas City that Edwards-Helaire would be activated. Coach Andy Reid said the second-year back had a good week of practice.
Andy Reid stopped short of saying that Clyde Edwards-Helaire would be activated off IR and play on Sunday against Cowboys. But he said Edwards-Helaire had a good week of practice

The Chiefs running back has been sidelined since October 10 after a left knee injury against the Bills. Edwards-Helaire exited after being tackled on a screen pass midway through the third quarter.
Before the 5-foot-7 back out of LSU went down, he was coming off back-to-back 100-yard rushing games.
Since Edwards-Helaire went to the IR, Kansas City’s offense has found its footing.
Last week against the Raiders, Patrick Mahomes and company exploded for 41-points in Vegas. Mahomes finished with over 400 yards and five touchdowns.
Darrell Williams displayed better chops as a pass-catcher and a red zone runner. Don’t be surprised to see Clyde Edwards-Helaire relegated to ground work between the 20’s. https://t.co/HFcXgYXoKp

Tight end Travis Kelce and speedster Tyreek Hill also got back to looking like themselves. Kelce reeled in eight catches for 119 yards and Hill found the endzone twice.
The Chiefs are going to need to continue on this upward trajectory against the Dallas Cowboys.
Dallas is riding high after a 40-point win over the Atlanta Falcons. Big Red and Kansas City will look to knock them off their high horse with a statement victory in Fox’s “Game of the Week.”
