Indiana’s football program had a rough start to the 2021 college football season – in more ways than one.
The Hoosiers, who surprised most of the college football world with their 2020 season, did not look the part on Saturday.
Iowa thumped Indiana, 34-6, to open the 2021 college football season.
The loss wasn’t the only embarrassing aspect of the game, though. Indiana also had an unfortunate uniform mistake.
One player’s uniform appeared to read “INDINIA” on the front.

Oops.
There’s wrongful termination… and then there’s whoever is responsible for Indiana’s jersey today…

Turns out Indiana did not lose to Iowa yesterday. Indinia did. https://t.co/JZJU02nKKc

Indinia is 0-1, Indiana hasn’t played yet, Rose Bowl still on the table

A lot has changed since I moved out of Indiana, apparently including how the state’s name is spelled #indinia https://t.co/zgPB3VZSLT

Fans have some suggestions…
“Indiana has one option here, right? Lean into this, sell “Indinia” jerseys, and join the joke rather than become the butt of it,” one fan tweeted.
That’s not a bad idea.
Indiana will take on Idaho on Saturday, Sept. 11 at 7:30 p.m. E.T. The game is scheduled to air on BTN.
