Steve Sarkisian’s debut at Texas is going pretty well so far.
The former Alabama offensive coordinator is more than halfway through his first game as the Longhorns’ head coach. So far, so good for Sarkisian in Austin.
Texas is leading Louisiana, 21-6, midway through the third quarter. Louisiana is a good team. The Longhorns have been impressive so far.
“Texas Football coach, Steve Sarkisian already proving he’s worth EVERY penny for Texas! The pre snap motion confused the linebacker on defense and led to the wide open touchdown. Also, star running back Bijan Robinson already has 7 touches in the first 14 plays!” Emmanuel Acho tweeted.

The Longhorns have been very strong on the ground today. Texas has been led by running backs Bijan Robinson and Jordan Whittington.

The score of the game is closer than the box score would suggest, too. Texas has the lead in most statistical categories.
Texas leads in nearly every statistical category, despite this being a 14-6 ball game.
Been impressed with Card’s mobility so far. Hasn’t set the world alight, but looks mature already. Has been fantastic on 3rd down, and has a couple of TDs to his name so far.

Texas, No. 21 in the preseason top 25 poll, has a tough start to the season. The Longhorns opened with a scrappy Louisiana team and will take on Arkansas on the road in Week 2. The Razorbacks haven’t looked very good today, though.
The finish to the Texas vs. Louisiana game can be seen on FOX.
