The Dallas Cowboys had some issues at kicker in the Week 1 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Mike McCarthy’s team lost to the Buccaneers, 31-29, on Thursday night. Dallas’ kicker, Greg Zuerlein, had a rough night.
Zuerlein did drill the go-ahead field goal late in the fourth quarter, but earlier in the contest, he missed two field goals (one was from 60 yards, to be fair). However, he also missed an extra point attempt.
The Cowboys aren’t making a change at kicker – yet, anyway. Although, the NFC East franchise is adding some competition to the position.
According to NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero, the Cowboys are expected to sign Lirim Hajrullahu to the practice squad.
“The #Cowboys are expected to re-sign kicker Lirim Hajrullahu to their practice squad, source said. A contingency plan after Greg Zuerlein’s struggles in the opener,” he reports.

Zuerlein was pretty solid in the second half, though if he has another rough game or two, the Cowboys could make a move.
Dallas is scheduled to play the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 2.
Kickoff is set for 4:25 p.m. E.T. on Sunday. The game will air on CBS.
