Last week, the Dallas Cowboys released veteran cornerback Rashard Robinson. Less than a week later, the team brought in another defensive back for a workout.
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero is reporting that Dallas will work out former Minnesota Vikings cornerback Holton Hill. If all goes well, he could potentially join the roster for training camp.
Hill began his NFL career with the Vikings, signing a three-year, $1.7 million contract in 2018. During his three-year stint with the franchise, Hill had 73 total tackles, 11 passes defended, one sack and an interception.
The Vikings waived Hill from injured reserve last December, which surprised a lot of fans at the time. They thought he’d stick around with the team for the 2021 season.

Dallas already has a solid group of young talent at cornerback, but teams can never have enough depth at that position.
As of right now, Anthony Brown and Trevon Diggs are the projected starters at cornerback. Behind them on the depth chart are Kelvin Joseph and Jourdan Lewis.
The Cowboys had one of the worst defenses in the NFL last season, giving up 29.6 points per game. However, fans are hopeful that defensive coordinator Dan Quinn can rejuvenate the defense and get them to play complementary football this fall.
