On Friday, Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney confirmed that star wide receiver Justyn Ross has been medically cleared to return for all football activities, per Tigers insider Grace Raynor.
Ross missed the entire 2020 season with a neck/back issue.

Ross suffered what was originally thought to be a stinger injury during spring practice back in March 2020. After showing no initial symptoms of a larger issue, preseason X-rays revealed complications with a congenital fusion condition of his neck and spine, a condition he was born with.
The standout wide receiver underwent a surgical procedure to correct the issue prior to the 2020 season.
Through his freshman season with Clemson in 2018, Ross logged a team-high 1,000 yards and nine receiving touchdowns. He followed that season up with another solid performance in 2019, notching 865 yards and eight touchdowns.
Ross has been participating in limited practice with the team since last fall. Those limitations have now been lifted.
“Justyn Ross has been cleared to play football. It’s been unbelievable watching his journey,” Swinney said, per David Hood of TigerNet.com. “I’m thankful for the support he had and he put in the work. The doctors cleared him and we got the final paperwork that you have to have done… We waited 18 months to get to this point and he will join us next Friday.”
Ross is currently under COVID-19 protocols and will be back on the field one week from today.
