Dak Prescott nearly led the Dallas Cowboys to a huge Week 1 win over Tom Brady and the defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Prescott was brilliant, throwing for 403 yards and three touchdowns in a 31-29 defeat. Judging by his postgame exchange with Brady, he’s planning on getting another crack at the Bucs.
NFL Films captured Prescott and Brady shaking hands and catching up after the game. As they headed their separate ways, Prescott promised that the Cowboys would see Tampa Bay again.
Today, he explained the thinking behind that comment.
“That’s just the confidence I have in this group, and the expectations I have,” Prescott said, via Jon Machota of The Athletic. “This is a playoff team that’s going to make a big push this year.”
“We’ll see y’all again. Trust me.”

On paper, Dak has a point. The Cowboys have what it takes to make the playoffs, led by their offense.
The NFC East, while improved from last season’s dumpster fire, is far from elite, making it eminently winnable for a roster with the talent Dallas has. Of course, we’ve seen Cowboys teams with plenty of talent fall short in the past though.
We feel pretty confident saying Tampa Bay will be in the playoffs. Will Dak and the ‘Boys earn the chance to meet them there?
