There’s always a few NFL head coaches and general managers who get fired in-season or after a given season. But ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky believes that one GM in particular is on the hot seat already.
Taking to Twitter on Monday, Orlovsky asserted that Las Vegas Raiders general manager Mike Mayock is on the hot seat. He said that Mayock is more likely to lose his job than either head coach Jon Gruden or starting quarterback Derek Carr.
Orlovsky’s tweet comes on the heels of the Raiders waiving 2020 third-round pick Tanner Muse. Muse is one of several draft picks from just the past few years that have been cut.
The Raiders hired Mayock in 2019 to replace Reggie McKenzie. But in those two years, the Raiders have gone just 15-17.

Last year was a pretty disappointing season for the Las Vegas Raiders. Despite fielding a top-10 offense, their bottom-three defense gave up 478 points – the most in franchise history.
Jon Gruden isn’t going anywhere. He’s heading into the fourth-year of a 10-year contract he signed in 2018.
Derek Carr has also played very well despite struggling to get the team over .500 at times.
If the Raiders fail to make the playoffs in 2021, Mayock may very well be the fall guy in Las Vegas.
Is Dan Orlovsky right? Is Mike Mayock the NFL GM most on the hot seat right now?
