Details Emerge From “Freak” Injury To Marcus Peters

September 10, 2021 by The Spun

Marcus Peters celebrates alongside Marlon Humphrey.

On Thursday afternoon, just a few days before the team’s season-opener, the Baltimore Ravens received some devastating injury news.

According to a report from NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the Ravens suffered two more devastating injuries today. Running back Gus Edwards and star corner Marcus Peters both reportedly went down with injuries on back-to-back plays.

Both Edwards and Peters reportedly suffered non-contact injuries. Unfortunately for the team, the Ravens fear both players suffered torn ACLs.

Not long after the initial news broke, NFL insider Peter Schrager revealed details of Peters’ injury. According to Schrager, Peters was doing a routine drill when he went down with the injury.

“Marcus Peters was doing a routine drill, coming out of breaks, that he’s done thousands of times. Freak injury,” Schrager wrote on Twitter.

No team in the NFL has been more hit by injuries this offseason than the Baltimore Ravens.

Just two weeks ago, the team lost star running back J.K. Dobbins to a torn ACL that will have him miss the entire season. They also lost running back Justice Hill, who reportedly suffered a torn Achilles.

Over the past two weeks, the Ravens lost their top three running backs to season-ending injuries. The loss of Peters just adds to a brutal offseason for Baltimore.

The Ravens have a few days to deal with the injury news before the team’s season-opener on Monday night against the Las Vegas Raiders.
