Josh Allen doesn’t have any reason to worry about his short- or long-term future. The 25-year-old rising star inked a new contract extension with the Buffalo Bills on Friday.
Allen had previously mentioned he wasn’t worried about getting a deal done ahead of the 2021 season. Either way, he was confident negotiations would at some point come to an end and he’d secure his long-term future with Buffalo. Those negotiations came to an end on Friday.
Allen signed a six-year contract extension with the Bills on Friday, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The entire deal is worth $258 million, $150 million being guaranteed. The extension makes him the second-highest paid quarterback behind Patrick Mahomes. It’s well deserved for one of the rising stars within the NFL.

As noted by Adam Schefter, quarterbacks like Baker Mayfield and Lamar Jackson have to be happy with Josh Allen’s extension. Both will be in line for big-time money in the next year or two.
It was only a matter of time before the Bills rewarded Allen handsomely. He was a superstar last season and completed 69.2 percent of his throws for 4,544 yards and 37 touchdowns with 10 interceptions. The future is bright in Buffalo.
The Bills are considered a major contender within the AFC this upcoming season. If Josh Allen plays this year like he did last, Buffalo could find itself on its way to the Super Bowl by season’s end.
