How can you not root for Florida State right now?
That’s what everyone in the college football world seems to be saying on Sunday night following the return of star quarterback McKenzie Milton.
Milton, one of the country’s best quarterbacks during his time at UCF, appeared to be done with football following a devastating leg injury in 2018. His surgeon said he wasn’t aware of any players who made their way back from the injuries he suffered.
Well, more than two years later, Milton is back on the football field, playing in a game.
Florida State started Jordan Travis at quarterback against Notre Dame on Sunday night. However, with the Seminoles trailing the Fighting Irish in the fourth quarter, Milton was put into the game.
The former UCF quarterback promptly led the Seminoles on a touchdown drive. It was arguably the coolest moment of Week 1.
After a catastrophic leg injury in 2018, McKenzie Milton’s doctors hoped to avoid amputation and give him hope to one day walk again.

McKenzie Milton enters the game. Such a cool moment with all he’s been through. And he fires a dime for a 22-yard gain.
