After seeing less and less work with ESPN since the end of Golic and Wingo, culminating with the end of his tenure, longtime ESPN commentator Mike Golic has found a new home for his voice and personality.
On Friday, NBC Sports announced that Golic has joined Pro Football Talk with Mike Florio. Golic will work with Florio during the NFL season to analyze the weekend results and news around the league. The program will be every Monday for the duration of the NFL season.
“Welcome to the team, Mike Golic!” the company said in a tweet. “Veteran sports commentator and former NFL defensive lineman, Mike Golic, will be joining Pro Football Talk with Mike Florio to analyze weekend results and discuss news from around the league every Monday morning during the 2021 NFL season.”
Golic had been with ESPN for over 20 years, the majority of that run coming as the co-host of Mike & Mike alongside Mike Greenberg. Mike & Mike ran from January 2000 to November 2017, after which point Golic joined Trey Wingo in hosting Golic & Wingo in his old timeslot.
Golic & Wingo ran from 2017 to 2020, after which Golic continued to work as an analyst before his contract ran up.

Mike Golic played college football at Notre Dame and enjoyed a nine-year NFL career as a defensive tackle. But he started dipping his toes into the sports media waters while he was with the Philadelphia Eagles, hosting a weekly segment on the Randall Cunningham Show before creating his own shows.
Golic’s first job at ESPN was the The Bruno-Golic Morning Show with Tony Bruno in the late-1990s. After that show ran its course, Mike & Mike began. The rest is history.
Mike Golic has been one of sports media’s most entertaining figures for decades. He’s sure to bring that same energy to NBC Sports.
Congrats on the new gig, Mike!
