Tragedy has reportedly struck the Michigan football family.

According to reports, a former Wolverines football player has tragically passed away at the age of 36. The former Michigan defensive back reportedly passed away suddenly.

Cincinnati.com confirmed the tragic news earlier this week.

Northern Kentucky is mourning the loss of one of its most decorated athletes.

Brandent Englemon passed away Thursday at the age of 36. The Holmes High School graduate was a football and basketball standout. He played football at the University of Michigan, playing 35 games for the Wolverines from 2005-07.

Englemon spent five years in the Michigan Wolverines program. He played a lot during his final three years, recording 157 tackles, 6.5 for loss, 3 sacks, 3 interceptions and one forced fumble.

The former Michigan defensive back received the Charles Woodson Award, given to the team’s best defensive back, as a senior.

I know you and pops are already talking about FOOTBALL! He was and is so proud of YOU! I remember the road trip to the Big House like it was yesterday and talking on the field, one of the best memories of my life! #GoBigBlueForever #31 #RIP pic.twitter.com/7KuScZiniy
