Littleton (Col.) Valor Christian four-star running back Gavin Sawchuk announced his commitment Tuesday afternoon. He’s heading to the Big 12.
Sawchuk, the No. 1 player in Colorado and the No. 2 running back in the 2022 class according to 247Sports’ Composite Rankings, has committed to Oklahoma. He chose the Sooners over Ohio State, Notre Dame, USC and others.
Sawchuk officially visited OU last weekend, and according to 247Sports’ Steve Wiltfong, decided to commit on the spot. He didn’t publicly reveal his decision until about an hour ago.

The 43rd-ranked rising senior in the country, Sawchuk is the second-highest rated prospect in Oklahoma’s 2022 recruiting class. His 247Sports Scouting Report says the 5-foot-11, 185-pounder has the “potential to be an instant impact player at Power Five level and high-round NFL Draft upside.”
In addition to Sawchuck, the Sooners also hold a commitment from another four-star running back, Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei’s Raleek Brown.
Oklahoma’s 2022 haul currently ranks fifth nationally.
