The bad news continues to pour in for Herm Edwards and the Arizona State Sun Devils.
On Thursday, star linebacker Eric Gentry and wide receiver Ricky Pearsall entered their names into the NCAA transfer portal. This development brings even more heat to a program/head coach that are already under investigation by the NCAA for alleged recruiting violations.
These allegations and transfer portal decisions have combined for a disastrous offseason.
I think Arizona State has clinched the “most demoralizing offseason” award. https://t.co/hs4P1A7Tk1

Gentry finished his freshman season in Tempe with 26 tackles, 1.0 sacks and 5.0 tackles for loss. Pearsall, a Tempe native, finished his junior season with 580 receiving yards and four touchdowns.
Gentry and Pearsall aren’t the only players to jump the ship amid these allegations. Former starting quarterback Jayden Daniels transferred to LSU earlier this offseason.
Arizona State also lost several assistant coaches due to the investigation, including former offensive coordinator Zak Hill.
Unless the program makes a drastic change ahead of the 2022 season, Edwards will head into his fifth season as head coach of the Sun Devils.
