Arizona State (2-0) had another rushing frenzy on Saturday. Jayden Daniels led the way in Sun Devils’ 37-10 win over UNLV (0-2).

The quarterback used his legs to shine in the victory. Daniels rushed for 122 yards, his new career-high. He also went 20 for 29 through the air for 175 yards and two touchdowns.

UNLV kicked a field goal in the first quarter to start the scoring. The Sun Devils didn’t score until the second quarter. On a long developing play from the UNLV 3-yard line, Daniels eventually found Johnny Wilson, who came open on an in-breaking route in the middle of the end zone for the first touchdown.

Wilson arguably had his best game since arriving to Tempe. He only caught four balls for 38 yards yards, but the young wide receiver appeared more confident Saturday, especially in contested catches.

After UNLV took back the lead on a crazy Doug Brumfield rushing touchdown, Arizona State scored 30 unanswered points. Rachaad White scored twice. He had most of the rushes in the backfield because DeaMonte Trayanum did not play due to injury. White rushed for 90 yards and added 41 receiving yards as well.

Daniyel Ngata benefitted from a trick play. Offensive coordinator Zak Hill had Ricky Pearsall took the direct snap, handing it off to White, who handed it to Ngata. He strolled in for a 13-yard touchdown. Ngata had 64 of the Sun Devils’ 287 rushing yards.

Daniels biggest pass play came late in the game when he hit LV Bunkley-Shelton for a 33-yard touchdown.

The defense came out a big sluggish but dominated in the second half. UNLV didn’t score after its first two drives and was held scoreless in the second half. Arizona State’s pass rush started getting to Brumfield and Justin Rogers, who came in later. Darien Butler earned two sacks and a team-high eight tackles.
