Tim Tebow drew a rave review from Jacksonville Jaguars passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach Brian Schottenheimer on Saturday.
Tebow spent his entire career playing quarterback until he announced his football comeback earlier this year – at tight end. The former Heisman winner has aspirations to make the Jaguars’ final 53-man roster. He’s off to a good start, from the sound of it,
Schottenheimer told reporters on Saturday that Tebow’s prior experience at quarterback has proved to be a major boost in his transition to tight end. During one play in practice, Tebow recognized his quarterback was under distress and made a high-IQ play because of it.
“You see the football mind, you see how he sees the game from the quarterback’s point of view,” Schottenheimer told reporters on Saturday, via Pro Football Talk. “There was a play a couple days ago in the red zone where I think it was C.J. [Beathard] broke out and scrambled left and the first guy that saw it was Tim and we threw him a touchdown pass. Why is that? Well, he has played the position — he has stood back there and seen, ‘Oh well he is moving this direction, I have to go with him.’ It is going to be fun to watch him compete In the preseason as well.”

It sounds like Tim Tebow is making an impact on offense, which isn’t a surprise. If he keeps it up, the Jaguars are going to have a tough decision to make.
Tebow has always been an elite athlete. Coming out of college, scouts and analysts believed he was made to be a tight end.
Tebow will have an opportunity to continue impressing the Jacksonville Jaguars next Saturday. They’ll take on the Cleveland Browns in their first preseason game of the year.
