Just a few days ago, the Jacksonville Jaguars received some tough news about one of the team’s wide receivers.
Tavon Austin went down with an injury during practice a week ago. The former college football superstar signed with the Jaguars just a few weeks earlier at the beginning of the month.
Despite the injury, head coach Urban Meyer made it seem like Austin would be ready to go for Week 1. Unfortunately, the news on Austin isn’t good.
According to a report from Jaguars reporter Mark Long, Austin suffered a quad injury and has been placed in Injured Reserve.

Austin has 220 catches for 2,026 yards and 15 touchdowns in addition to 1,340 rushing yards and 10 rushing touchdowns during his NFL career. Although he’s an aging veteran, he still has what it takes to compete at a high level.
Unfortunately, he won’t be able to showcase his talent on the field over the first few weeks of the 2021 season.
After being placed on IR, it seems like the injury could linger into the mid-way point of the season.
