Jason Pierre-Paul Has A Scary Message For The NFL

September 7, 2021 by The Spun

Jason Pierre-Paul celebrating on the field.

Jason Pierre-Paul had a major impact on defense for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020, and he wasn’t even at full strength.

Pierre-Paul dealt with left knee issues throughout the season and had a procedure done after the Super Bowl to clean up the damage. The veteran pass rusher estimated that he played last season at “70 percent” health, yet still managed to start all 16 games and record 55 tackles, 9.5 sacks, two interceptions and a pair of fumble recoveries.

With the Bucs’ season opener just three days away, Pierre-Paul issued a warning to the rest of the NFL, saying that he feels as healthy as he ever has since entering the NFL in 2010.

“This is the healthiest I’ve felt,” Pierre-Paul said via the team website. “I feel like JPP from 2010.”

The three-time Pro Bowler went on to say that he has added some pass-rushing moves to his repertoire.

“The knee feels good, man. I think this is going to be one of my healthiest years ever,” Pierre-Paul said. “I’m excited. Wait until y’all see what I’ve got in store. I’ve got some extra moves. You’re going to see even more. I’m just waiting to throw them out there.”

If JPP is telling the truth, the rest of the league should be scared. The 32-year-old has the potential to have a game-wrecking impact in 2021.

He’ll try to do just that when Tampa Bay opens up against the Dallas Cowboys–and their ailing offensive line–on Thursday night.
