JJ Watt Reacts To Brother T.J.’s Massive New Contract

September 10, 2021 by The Spun

JJ Watt and Derek Watt talking after a Houston Texans vs. Pittsburgh Steelers game.

T.J. Watt scored a massive new contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday, putting an end to his long and stressful holdout. With his brother’s new money in hand, J.J. Watt thinks it’s time for T.J. to pay up.

T.J., 26, agreed to a four-year, $112 million extension with the Steelers today. His new per-year salary makes him the highest-paid defensive player in the NFL.

The Steelers edge rusher has been dominant since he’s entered the league. In four years, T.J. has 230 tackles, 49.5 sacks and 59 tackles for loss. Believe it or not, he could be even better this upcoming season with his contract negotiations out of the way.

J.J. couldn’t be happier for his younger brother, but he also wants some of the money. Take a look.

.@_TJWatt should I send those outstanding IOU’s to your accountant or do you want to just Venmo me?

Classic big brother right here. T.J. Watt may have to pay up at the next Watt family dinner.

The two brothers have football in their DNA. J.J. has made a career out of terrorizing opposing quarterbacks. T.J.’s done the same thus far in his career.

Unfortunately, the Watt brothers won’t play against each other this upcoming season. J.J. is off to the NFC West after signing with the Arizona Cardinals earlier this year. T.J., of course, plays in the AFC North.
