Lane Kiffin didn’t disappoint this Tuesday for SEC Media Days, as the head coach of the Ole Miss Rebels had plenty of things to say about this upcoming season. He also had some kind words to share about Alabama head coach Nick Saban.
Kiffin, who spent three years as an assistant coach at Alabama, is a huge fan of Saban’s work.
What’s so amazing about Saban’s career in Tuscaloosa is that it’s far from over. Even at this stage in his career, he continues to prove that he can lead the Crimson Tide to a national championship. That’s pretty impressive for a 69-year-old coach.
“He’s done it different than anybody’s ever done it, and he’s done it better than anybody’s done it,” Kiffin told the media on Tuesday.

Saban could potentially add another championship to his long list of achievements this fall.
A lot of the Alabama’s success this year will depend on the play of quarterback Bryce Young. Though he hasn’t even started a game yet for the program, he’s set to make nearly $1 million in partnership deals.
Kiffin actually commented on Young’s NIL deals during this afternoon’s SEC Media Days. He seems to be very happy for the five-star quarterback.
“That number blew me away,” Kiffin said. “You didn’t prepare me for that. A million dollars and he hasn’t started a game yet? Great for him.”
Alabama and Ole Miss will meet on Oct. 2 at Bryant-Denny Stadium. We’ll see if Kiffin can get the better of Saban this fall.
