In 2020, Barber served as a third-string running back option for Washington, logging 258 yards and four touchdowns behind starter Antonio Gibson and backup J.D. McKissic.
Before that, he spent four seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after going unselected in the 2016 draft. The best year of his NFL career came in 2018 when he started 16 games for the Bucs, notching 871 yards and five touchdowns.
Barber will now likely take over the third-string position for the Raiders behind starter Josh Jacobs and backup Kenyan Drake. Former third-string running back Jalen Richard was placed on the injured reserve list indefinitely after suffering a foot injury in early August.
Barber, 27, will now play for his third NFL team in the past three seasons.
