Longtime sports journalist Jemele Hill is set to embark on the next step of her media career.
On Tuesday, Hill announced the launch of her new project. Joining up with Spotify, the former ESPN analyst will create The Unbothered Network, a podcast network “for black women, run by black women.” The network gets it’s name from Hill’s existing podcast, Jemele Hill Is Unbothered, which was renewed for a third season today as well.
LeBron James has been an outspoken supporter for the amplification of Black voices. In response to Hill’s announcement earlier today, the Los Angeles Lakers superstar shared his excitement for the news.
“Love to hear and see it!!!! Congrats Jemele “Queen” Hill,” James wrote.

LeBron is no stranger to progressive media outlets. In collaboration with his longtime friend Maverick Carter, James partnered with HBO to create The Shop: Uninterrupted. Through four seasons and 12 episodes of the show, the four-time NBA champion has provided a space for athletes and other prominent figures to discuss important social issues, coining the catchphrase “More Than An Athlete.”
Hill will look to use her new platform in a similar manner.
“The Unbothered Network is more than just a content hub, it’s a space where Black women can hopefully see their full selves,” Hill said in a statement, per The Hollywood Reporter. “There’s so much about the lives of Black women that haven’t been fully explored, and so many of our stories have either been dismissed or overlooked. I’m also proud of this network because it not only centers Black women, but it’s also run by Black women. We can’t empower Black women if we’re not positioning them in leadership roles.”
