Arch Manning cannot be stopped this season. On Friday night, the five-star quarterback for Isidore Newman had a five-touchdown performance against Pearl River.
There has been so much hype surrounding Manning for the past two years, as he’s drawing interest from just about every Power Five program in the country. His performance against Pearl River this week proved why he’s considered the best recruit from the 2023 class.
Not only can Manning thread the needle, he has the ability to attack defenses downfield. During the first quarter, he had a deep touchdown pass to tight end Will Randle. It was arguably his best throw of the night.
Following the win over Pearl River last night, Isidore Newman head coach Nelson Stewart told 247Sports that Manning was “on fire.”

Prior to the start of this season, Stewart said that Manning will be very productive this year due to all the work he put in during the offseason.
“He just likes the weight room and the ball is really coming off, his deep ball has gotten a lot better and he’s killed it as a captain,” Stewart said. “He loves meeting with all of them and going over practice plans and all our call charts. He’s had a great summer and been able to see some great schools and it hasn’t disrupted what we’ve done.”
Last night’s performance validated Stewart’s comments about Manning, as the star quarterback continues to prove that he’s a special player.
