The Texas Longhorns are most certainly not back.
Steve Sarkisian took his team on the road to Fayetteville for a matchup against the Arkansas Razorbacks and let’s just say it did not go well. The Razorbacks jumped out to a 16-0 lead in the first half.
Texas rebounded with a touchdown early in the third quarter, but couldn’t get much offense going after that – until it was too late. Arkansas gashed the Longhorns defense to the tune of 333 yards on the ground en route to a 40-21 win.
Following the game, the official Twitter page for the Arkansas Razorbacks football team had a four-word message for the Longhorns.
“Welcome to the league,” the message said.

That message, of course, is in direct response to Texas and Oklahoma opting to join the SEC in the near future.
While no date is set in stone just yet, the Longhorns will be competing with the likes of Arkansas very soon. With how Saturday night’s game went, it doesn’t seem like Texas is ready for that jump just yet.
Perhaps a few more seasons under head coach Steve Sarkisian will do the trick. If not, the Longhorns could be in for a rude awakening when they leave for the SEC.
Texas should be able to rebound next week with an easy game against Rice on the schedule.
