Look: Buccaneers Player Appears To Suffer Gruesome Injury vs. Cowboys

On Thursday night, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Dallas Cowboys stepped on the field for the first game of the 2021 NFL season.

Tom Brady and the Buccaneers entered the contest as heavy favorites over Dak Prescott and the Cowboys. Before the game kicked off, the Buccaneers unveiled their Super Bowl banner in front of a packed house.

Brady and company struck first, with a short touchdown pass to wide receiver Chris Godwin. Just a few minutes later, the Cowboys responded with a touchdown pass of their own.

Prescott hit wide receiver CeeDee Lamb on a 22-yard touchdown pass down the left side of the field. The points on the board wasn’t the only bad thing for the Buccaneers, though.

Corner Sean Murphy-Bunting appeared to suffer a very bad injury to his right arm. His arm got caught in between Lamb and Buccaneers safety Antoine Winfield Jr and it bent awkwardly.

Here’s video of the play.

Murphy-Bunting appeared to dislocate his arm, but will obviously need further testing to confirm what happened.

Former NFL star Shannon Sharpe said he suffered a similar injury during his career.

“My arm did exactly what Murphy Bunting’s arm did in 2002. I suffered a complete dislocation of the elbow. Think I missed 4 weeks,” he said.

The Buccaneers have already ruled Murphy-Bunting out of the rest of the game, which is not a good sign.

Hopefully he’ll be back on the field soon.
