For the first game of his first full season as Jackson State’s head coach, you knew Deion Sanders was going to pull out all the stops.
This included Sanders enlisting an NFL Hall of Famer to be his unofficial “hype man” on the sideline. During the fourth quarter of today’s game against Florida A&M, television cameras captured none other than Terrell Owens talking with and encouraging players as they left the field.
It’s not clear what T.O. was saying, but knowing him, he was saying it passionately.

How much did have Owens on the sideline help? Impossible to say, but it definitely didn’t hurt, as the Tigers made a second quarter touchdown by Shedeur Sanders hold up in a 7-6 win over FAMU.
Deion should feel pretty good about his defense, coordinated by former NFL defensive back and defensive coordinator Dennis Thurman, heading into Week 2.
We’ll see if the Tigers can get to 2-0 when they host Tennessee State next weekend.
