College football’s Week 1 got underway on Thursday night, and plenty of players were struggling to shake off the rust. The same could be said for ESPN.
The Worldwide Leader broadcasted several college football games on Thursday night, one of which was North American-Lamar. If you didn’t watch it, you’re probably not alone. Not many general college football fans tune into watch WAC football, especially when a lackluster program like North American is involved. ESPN is lucky it wasn’t a marquee game.
ESPN’s college football scorebug had a pretty major error ahead of the Lamar-North American showdown. It displayed both team’s names and Lamar’s logo, but forgot to include North American’s logo. Instead, the area just read “LOGO.”
Take a look.

That’s a pretty embarrassing blunder, but we’ll give ESPN a pass here. Not too many eyes were on Thursday night’s Lamar-North American game.
College football’s 2021 season is officially underway, though. Week 1 is jam-packed with games across the country. Most notably, Clemson and Georgia will clash in Charlotte, N.C. on Saturday night.
The Tigers and Bulldogs are both championship contenders. Georgia has the edge on experience. JT Daniels, the USC transfer, is flying under the radar following a promising 2020 season. His experience could be a plus against a Clemson defense some are saying could be one of the best in college football.
We have a feeling ESPN, meanwhile, won’t make any scorebug errors for Saturday night’s Clemson-Georgia showdown.
