Deshaun Watson‘s notable absence from the Houston Texans‘ practice on Friday was overshadowed by a special guest in attendance.
Olympic gymnast Simone Biles checked out the Texans’ practice on Friday. Biles returned from the Tokyo Olympics earlier this week and wanted to pay a visit to Houston’s practice field to watch her boyfriend, Texans defensive back Jonathan Owens, go through drills.
Biles and Owens have been in the media often as of late. The 24-year-old gymnast dealt with mental-health struggles during her time in Tokyo. She, as a result, competed in fewer events than previously anticipated. Owens supported her throughout the entire process.

This is pretty awesome. Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens clearly support each other in their professional endeavors.
Owens spoke about Biles’ struggles at the Tokyo Olympics during Thursday’s media session in Houston.
“I was sick for her, just because I can see her face, I kind of know her facial expressions, I can kind of read her lips and kind of know what was going on and kind of what she was telling her coach,” Owens said, via ESPN. “I kind of already knew what was going on beforehand, so I was just really hoping she was going to get over it and be able to go out there and perform. So I was sick to my stomach because she wasn’t able to go out there.”
Biles overcame her struggles when she won bronze in the individual balance beam final in Tokyo. It was a memorable sight from one of the best Olympians of all-time.
