Ja Morant just threw down the dunk of the year.
To close out the third quarter of Tuesday night’s Game 5 matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Memphis Grizzlies superstar took the ball straight down the lane and punched it on opposing guard Malik Beasly.
Taking off from well beyond the restricted area, Morant went full extension before throwing down the one-handed tomahawk.

This incredible play served as a much-needed momentum boost for the Grizzlies and their home crowd. Previously down 13 points late in the third quarter, this dunk breathed some new life into the FedExForum as they head into the fourth.
On the very first play of the fourth quarter, Morant almost pulled off yet another poster dunk — this time on two defenders. The ball rimmed out to Desmond Bane who knocked down a three to bring the Grizzlies within 10.
Morant and his Memphis squad will look to ride this momentum to yet another comeback victory this evening.
With nine minutes remaining in the fourth, the Grizzlies trail 92-83. Morant is one assist away from a triple-double.
