Lane Kiffin could pick up the biggest win of his coaching career this Saturday, as Ole Miss will battle Alabama in Tuscaloosa.
With kickoff still several hours away, Kiffin was asked by ESPN’s Laura Rutledge what it would mean for Ole Miss to defeat Alabama this afternoon. He believes the Rebels need to play flawless football in order to knock off the defending champions.
“Well, it would take a lot of work. We’d have to play awesome and you’d have to get some breaks any time you play the No. 1 team on the road,” Kiffin said. “Maybe little Ole Miss can pull it off.”
Rutledge then asked Kiffin if he said “little Ole Miss,” which led to a great response.
“I did,” Kiffin replied. “That’s just, you copy people and it has worked. Dabo did it, and they won, so maybe it’ll work.”
“Did you just say little Ole Miss?”
“I did.”

Unfortunately for the Rebels, they’ll be without one of their best playmakers this afternoon. Junior wide receiver Jonathan Mingo will not be able to play due to a broken foot.
Mingo has been outstanding this season for Ole Miss. In three games, he has 15 receptions for 290 yards and three touchdowns.
It’ll be up to Kiffin to scheme up ways for his other players to get open against Alabama’s defense.
Kickoff for today’s Alabama-Ole Miss game is at 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS
