It didn’t take long for Ohio State to put points on the board during Thursday night’s Big Ten clash.
Minnesota put the Buckeyes to the test in the first quarter. The Gophers received the opening kickoff and subsequently took their time on offense, turning to the running game in the process. Ohio State held strong, though, forcing a punt following a near-six-minute drive.
C.J. Stroud and the Ohio State offense then got to work. After a few small chunk plays, the Buckeyes set off some fireworks. Running back Miyan Williams took a handoff, bounced his run to the outside and then used his speed to get the edge. The rest is history. Williams outraced the nearby Minnesota defenders for a huge score.

C.J. Stroud didn’t have to do much to help the Buckeyes score points. Ohio State’s new starter is surrounded by a ridiculously talented offensive attack. Funny enough, running back was one of the only questions surrounding the Buckeyes’ offense.
Ohio State lost Trey Sermon and Justin Fields to the NFL during the offseason, leaving Ryan Day to find a few replacements. Stroud and Miyan Williams earned the nods.
Williams, a three-star recruit, originally committed to Iowa State. He eventually flipped to Ohio State. It looks like it was the right decision.
