Look: Packers Star Reacts To The Aaron Rodgers News

July 27, 2021 by The Spun

David Bakhtiari #69 of the Green Bay Packers looks on

It looks like Aaron Rodgers may be reporting to Green Bay Packers training camp on Wednesday after all–but apparently he hasn’t told his left tackle and close friend, David Bakhtiari.

Earlier today, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that after several months of posturing, Rodgers has “indicated to people close to him that he does plan to play for Green Bay this season.” We’ll find out for sure when the Packers arrive at camp this week, but right now, things look much more promising than they have recently.

Whoever Rapoport’s sources are, Bakhtiari doesn’t appear to be one of them. In fact, he indicated on Twitter that Rodgers hadn’t told him anything at all about his plans.

“Wow. Guess we aren’t “close people,” Bakhtiari tweeted after reading Rapoport’s tweet.

Interestingly, Rodgers and Bakhtiari were spotted working out together recently, so it’s not like the two haven’t been in touch.

Bakhtiari is currently recovering from the torn ACL that ended his 2020 season in late December. He won’t be ready for training camp but says he’ll be back as soon as possible.

While the two-time All-Pro might be a little annoyed that Rodgers didn’t tip him off here, we expect he’ll be able to put it behind him when the two get back out on the field together.
