Opening weekend for college football has produced some incredible game day atmospheres. With fans back in full force in stadiums across the country, things are starting to look back to normal after last year’s COVID-19 season.
If this weekend’s college football environments are any indication of what’s to come in the rest of the sporting world in 2021, then the NFL should get ready for some electric fan engagement.
Right around kickoff time for yesterday’s ACC matchup between North Carolina and Virginia Tech, former Texas Tech quarterback and current Kansas City superstar Patrick Mahomes shared a message for his Chiefs fans.
“Man these college games got me so ready to be back in Arrowhead with the fans!!! #ChiefsKingdom,” he wrote.

Based on the time of this Tweet, Mahomes was likely reacting to the sold out crowd in Lane Stadium as the fans participated in their electric “Enter Sandman” pregame ritual.

Kansas City fans are already known as some of the most rowdy in the NFL. So with fully capacity returning to Arrowhead Stadium after last year’s limited COVID-19 season, these wild Chiefs faithful need no encouragement to bring the energy in 2021.
Chiefs fans have quite a bit to cheer about heading into this coming season. Coming off their second Super Bowl appearance in a row last year, Mahomes and the unstoppable Kansas City offense should have the fans back on their feet in no time.
The Chiefs will open up the doors to Arrowhead next Sunday as they take on the Cleveland Browns in a Week 1 matchup.
