Uniforms are a big part of what makes college football so great. And over the weekend, 247Sports’ Matt Howe put together his rankings of the top 25 helmets in the nation for 2022.
There are a number of iconic helmets in the SEC. But, according to Howe, one sits well above the others:
The Alabama Crimson Tide.

“Alabama‘s helmet has pretty much stayed the same since the 1960s, with a crimson base and white numbers on the sides,” Howe wrote.
But sometimes there’s beauty in simplicity. This allows Bama’s helmets to stand the test of time. The single-stripe with the numbers on the side will never go out of style.
It also helps that those shells have been associated with so many national titles over the program’s history.
Other SEC helmets that made Howe’s list are LSU, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia and Auburn.
