Stephen A. Smith didn’t hold back when it came to Ben Simmons on Sunday afternoon.
The Brooklyn Nets announced on Sunday that Simmons won’t be available for Game 4, even though it looked like he was going to play. It would’ve been his first game since the 2020 playoffs after he didn’t play during the entire 2021 regular season.
When this news reached SAS, he absolutely unleashed on Simmons.
“I feel bad for anybody who is his teammate,” Smith said. “He quit on LSU, he quit on the Philadelphia 76ers, and how he ain’t showing up for the Brooklyn Nets. We can point to all of the excuses, all the rationale behind it that we want to. I do recall despite him not playing, he still filed a grievance to collect $20 million that he has not earned. This is one of the most pathetic situations that I’ve ever seen in my life.”

Game 4 is also the biggest game of the season for the Nets as their season is on the line. If they lose, the Celtics will win the series 4 games to 0.
Per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Nets are feeling “surprised” and “disappointed” by this news.
